Audit Manager

Summary of Responsibilities

Supervises planning, scheduling, field work, and reporting for a variety of diversified audit engagements under the supervision of Audit Partners.

  
Primary Functions
  • Monitors adherence to the Firm’s audit policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Serves as a resource and mentor for staff accountants and senior audit accountants.
  • Assists auditing staff members in conducting field work, technical research, client meetings, and drafting financial statements.
  • Delegates work to staff accountants and senior audit accountants; supervises their work.
  • Participates in administrative matters as directed.
  • Assists in developing and marketing additional profitable audit services.
  • Facilitates the timely and efficient flow of audit work.
  • Serves as engagement manager for selected audit clients, including billing and fee matters.
  • Contributes to the Firm’s client service standards by producing quality work with attentive service, meeting Firm standards for turn-a-round time.
  • Further develops industry or specialization expertise.
  • Establishes and maintain good working relationships with all Firm personnel.
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, imagination, and time management and organization skills.
  • Assists with internal training programs.
  
Other Functions
  • Assist with recruiting, developing, mentoring (including professional development plans), and retaining audit personnel.
  • Develop meaningful working relationships with client personnel to solidify trust and confidence in the Firm and its services.
  • Participate in community organizations and activities, serving as an officer or sitting on a committee. Cultivate referral sources and centers of influence. Perform marketing and business development assignments according to individual Professional Development Plan.
  
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or other related program. Advanced degree or enrollment in an advanced degree or certification program preferred.
  • Six to nine years experience in CPA-firm audit services.
  • Proficiency in use of computers and audit software programs.
  • CPA certification.
